The role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Product Manager to oversee and execute the strategy and execution for our suite of data products, data tools and adtech, which support targeting, optimisation and measurement for our marketing activity. This role is critical in enabling data-driven decision-making and activation across the Marketing teams.
You will be the primary point of contact for data products, data tools and adtech within the Marketing domain, working with the Marketing Capability Lead who acts as the programme manager across all marketing technology. As an individual contributor, you will work closely with engineering, data science, and business stakeholders across the marketing and media teams, reporting to the Director of Media & Capability.
Main responsibilities
- Define and champion the product vision and strategy for our Marketing data products data tools and adtech: Develop a deep understanding of business needs and translate them into a compelling product vision and roadmap for data products and tools related to marketing and media.
- Lead and own existing Marketing data products, data tools and adtech: Take ownership of, evaluate effectiveness, identify gaps, and develop plans for improvement or replacement as needed of:
- Customer data platform, managing requirements and innovating its capabilities to deliver against first-party data activation and segmentation
- CRM platform for the orchestration and delivery of messaging.
- Data products relating to the transformation of VOD self-promo advertising into a targeted channel.
- Mobile measurement partner, for paid media measurement and campaign optimisation.
- Integration points and accounts for 3rd party paid media platforms.
- Integration of personalised recommendation data into marketing channels
- Measurement, attribution and media experimentation tooling.
- Deliver impactful advertising technology initiatives: Gather requirements from Marketing and Media stakeholders to prioritise adtech initiatives and use cases, working with delivery stakeholders to project manage and ensure delivery against outcomes.
- Manage marketing tagging, tracking and measurement: Gather and prioritise requirements from Marketing and Media stakeholders to form a roadmap to technical enhancements which enable the measurement and campaign optimisation requirements of the marketing team - campaign tagging, pixel implementation, event tracking, etc. Stay on top of industry trends and opportunities to enhance our approach.
- Contribute to the overall data product strategy: Collaborate with other Data Product Managers in Product & Insights teams to ensure a cohesive and consistent product practice across the ‘Viewer’ strategy and operating group.
- Developing new data products: Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities for new data products within the Marketing domain, focusing on data products that support targeting, optimisation and measurement for marketing.
- Interface with Central Data Engineering: Effectively communicate and collaborate with the Central Data Engineering team, briefing requirements as one of Central Data’s main stakeholders. Ensure alignment on data product development, infrastructure, tooling, and data product roadmap. Work with other internal ITV teams to leverage existing technology and other data sources for marketing use cases.
- Lead the entire product lifecycle: From ideation and discovery through to launch and iteration, you will manage the end-to-end product lifecycle for your portfolio, working alongside the Marketing Capability Lead. This includes conducting research, gathering requirements, analyzing data, writing user stories, and collaborating with multiple engineering teams to deliver high-quality data products.
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Business, or related field) - this is desirable
- Extensive experience in product management, with a focus on marketing data products, advertising technology, and associated tools.
- Deep understanding of data and analytics concepts, including data collection, processing, and visualization.
- Experience with marketing and media channel operations is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate requirements into actionable Data Product specifications.
- Experience working in an agile development environment.
- Proven track record of successfully launching and managing data products.
