Interactive

We engage our viewers every day through our onscreen competitions and votes, via the ITV WIN website and via our charity campaigns. By joining the team you’ll get involved in commissioning, designing, developing, producing and delivering these services to the highest standards, for some of ITV’s flagship shows.

You might be working within Interactive Commissioning, ensuring competitions and votes are integrated into the latest TV formats. Or working with our brand partners to source prizes, from huge cash amounts to money-can’t-buy experiences and viewer-engaging ideas to feature in our shows and on the rapidly expanding ITV WIN website.

You could work as an Interactive Producer to ensure initiatives are delivered compliantly and on time. Or as a Competitions producer where you’ll head off around the country filming and producing the most engaging competition promotions for our shows. If you’re more technical, then you could be part of our Product and Service delivery team.

Alternatively, you could make an impact in Operations. This is all about making sure services are set up correctly, checking that voting apps are working, and making sure everything we do works perfectly day in day out. Not to mention telling people they’ve won!

Viewer Services

We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for our viewers, which is why our Viewer Services team plays such an important role across our business. Just as ITV is for everyone, the team supports everyone who needs us, whether they get in touch via phone, email, post or social media. The team answers a huge range of queries every day, from how to access ITVX to ideas for programmes, and from complaints to requests for autographs. They’re the team that speak directly to our viewers all day, every day, giving them a unique insight like no other. It also means they work with many other areas of ITV to make sure they’re able to give our viewers the responses they need.

You never know what enquiry you’ll get next, which means needing excellent communication and listening skills, plenty of patience, and the commitment to really understanding what a customer needs.

Typical roles include Customer Service Representatives, Customer Service Agents, and Technical Support Agents, and many of the team bring customer service experience from retail or contact centre environments.

Commissioning

We’re in every UK home and our productions are loved by millions of viewers around the world. In Commissioning, we play a huge role in making that happen.

We work in genres - Entertainment, Factual Entertainment, Comedy and Drama, News, Current Affairs and Sport - and each genre has a team led by a Head of Commissioning with Commissioning Editors, Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners and Coordinator/Assistants to keep things moving.

You don’t necessarily need academic qualifications to make an impact in Commissioning - people skills and a passion for what you do are what’s important. But what we also look for is an eye for detail, plenty of diligence, lots of creativity, the confidence to challenge the norm, and the flexibility to work long hours.

Data and AI

Data doesn’t just drive our business - it drives every decision we make. It’s also what powers the thinking behind everything we do, helping us understand what we need to do to inspire our existing audiences and reach out to new ones and perform at our best.

Our Behavioural Data team provide the insight that drives business decisions, power features on the ITVX, and help us understand how our services are being used, and how to make them better. OurData Analysts establish measurement frameworks to optimise business performance. And our Data Scientists figure out how we’re able to affect user behaviour more directly. In addition, we help clients plan their marketing campaigns, ensuring their ads reach the most relevant audiences for their products and services.

We play a crucial role in helping get the most out of the data that we acquire. Whether that’s upskilling and training our people or increasing our revenue through experimentation and personalisation, there’s no limit to what we’re able to achieve with their help.

We also won Best Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at the DataIQ Awards 2022

Programme Strategy & Scheduling

It’s one thing making content that our audiences can’t get enough of. It’s an equally huge challenge to make sure that they’re able to watch it. That’s where our Programme, Strategy & Scheduling team come in. It’s where we decide our programming strategies for each of our channels, and where we manage scheduling across ITV together with non-linear content for ITVX to maximise viewing.

Across the team you’ll find a Director of Programming and Strategy, a Head of Digital Channels and Acquisitions, Schedulers and Assistant Schedulers, and an Acquisitions team. It’s a hugely competitive marketplace when it comes to opportunities which means you’ll almost certainly need previous experience in a TV or broadcast environment to stand out.

More specifically, we look for expertise in broadcast ops and/or media planning, a good understanding of audiences and content, and genuine attention to detail. And if you can bring all that, you’ll discover a great department to work in, opportunities to get to know our business from lots of different angles, and a career where progression happens naturally.
