Drama Team Production Assistant

Return to jobs

The Role

The team

You'll be part of a team supporting our exciting slate of drama productions, from development and pre-production through to filming, post-production and delivery. It's a great opportunity to build your experience, work with talented production teams and help bring brilliant stories to audiences in the UK and around the world.

The role

No two days will be quite the same. You'll provide essential administrative and production support across our drama slate, helping to keep our productions organised and running smoothly.

From coordinating meetings, travel and production arrangements to managing crew information, production systems and confidential documents, you'll play an important part in supporting our teams. You'll also get involved in setting up new productions, supporting sustainability initiatives and helping with post-production activities.

Working with colleagues and freelance production teams, you'll have the opportunity to build your knowledge of the production process and make a real contribution to the dramas we create.

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

    • A minimum of 12 months' experience working within television production (for a UK TV broadcaster), either scripted or unscripted (for a broadcaster or independent production company) with direct involvement in supporting production teams through administrative or secretarial responsibilities.
    • Demonstrable experience of providing administrative support within a television production environment, including: coordinating meetings and schedules, managing production documentation, maintaining production guidelines and policies, and supporting a production office throughout prep, shoot and wrap.
    • Experience using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace or equivalent digital systems in a professional environment, including creating and maintaining spreadsheets, managing shared documents and folders, and accurately recording and updating information used by others.
    • Demonstrable experience of supporting multiple colleagues, departments or production activities simultaneously, including managing competing requests, prioritising work and meeting agreed deadlines in a high performing team within a television production environment.
    • Experience handling confidential or commercially sensitive information within a professional environment, including maintaining accurate records, controlling access to documents or sharing information appropriately with authorised colleagues.

Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)

    • Communication skills at all levels.
    • Able to stay calm under pressure with a positive, can-do attitude.
    • An understanding of TV production processes.
    • Administrative proficiency and excellent organisational skills.
    • Initiative and proactive in problem solving.
    • Team Collaboration.
    • High level of integrity particularly when dealing with confidential and sensitive information.
    • An interest in TV Drama.

What is the magic of ITV?

It starts with a simple love of television. Watching it, creating it, talking about it. Whether it’s daytime or primetime, for downtime or anytime.

We’re inspired by our audiences. Who helps shape what we make. Standing shoulder to shoulder with them. Because what matters to them, matters to us.

Starting conversations. Winning hearts. Changing minds and sometimes even society itself. Big or small, what we make makes an impact.
