Finance Manager

Return to jobs

The Role

Role type: Permanent Part-Time (3 days / 22.5 hours per week)

The team..

So Television is an ITV Studios-owned unscripted production company, most well-known for producing The Graham Norton Show for the BBC, alongside high-profile music specials and iconic chat shows. We operate in a creative, fast-moving media environment that thrives on collaboration and open communication. Working as part of the broader ITV Studios Unscripted network, we focus on building supportive professional relationships, maintaining robust financial controls, and looking for continual improvements to drive efficiencies across our reporting and processes.

The role..

We’re looking for a commercially minded and technically strong part-time Finance Manager to join the team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Finance Business Partner (ITV Studios Unscripted), with a dotted reporting line to the Director of Production (So Television), you will work closely with Senior Management, Production and Finance teams.

Your core purpose will be to deliver accurate and timely management accounts, consolidate these into ITV systems, and support full end-to-end finance processes for the label. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you will balance granular financial controls with parent-company group reporting. It is an ideal opportunity for a qualified accountant with a broad range of experience (in both financial and management accounting) and enthusiasm to 'get stuck in' and help shape the financial targets of an iconic entertainment brand.

Some of your key day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Owning the monthly forecasting process, providing detailed variance analysis against budget and prior forecasts to track profitability.
  • Conducting the annual budgeting process in close collaboration with the FBP, Managing Director, and Director of Production to build robust financial targets.
  • Managing revenue and cost of sale recognition alongside all overheads expenditure to guarantee P&L and balance sheet accuracy.
  • Executing the timely submission of monthly load files and financial data into ITV group systems, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Maintaining and updating internal ITV FP&A files to keep the label’s performance aligned with Group expectations.
  • Leading the statutory accounts process by working closely with the FBP, ITV Studios controllership team, and ITV Group.
  • Preparing comprehensive operational packs for Label Board Meetings and monitoring profitability to highlight financial risks or opportunities.
  • Ensuring the smooth collection of royalties from ITV’s Global Partnerships division and accurately calculating third-party payaways associated with ancillary incomes.
  • Taking full ownership of finance controls and maintaining the control framework across So Television.
  • Leading internal investigations into a wide range of ad hoc queries with a proactive approach to continuous process improvement.

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

  • Fully qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA) with post-qualification experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Proven financial reporting experience gained through working with a parent or group corporate structure.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills with a proven ability to prioritise workloads and adapt to changing requirements.

Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)

  • Prior experience working within the TV production, Media, or Creative industries is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with Sage is highly desirable, and familiarity with ITV systems (or similar large ERPs like Oracle Fusion/Smartview & EPBCS) is beneficial.
  • Able to build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues to develop a strong supportive network.
  • A flexible approach and comfortable working within a fluid, changing environment.
  • A naturally curious problem-solver focused on driving efficiencies and exploring trends, risks, and opportunities.

Please note, on occasion we may receive a very large volume of applications which means applications for a role may close earlier than the referenced closing date. We’d encourage you to apply as soon as possible if interested.

What is the magic of ITV?

It starts with a simple love of television. Watching it, creating it, talking about it. Whether it’s daytime or primetime, for downtime or anytime.

We’re inspired by our audiences. Who helps shape what we make. Standing shoulder to shoulder with them. Because what matters to them, matters to us.

Starting conversations. Winning hearts. Changing minds and sometimes even society itself. Big or small, what we make makes an impact.
