Hair and Makeup Artist (part time) - 9 month FTC

The role

To create and maintain flawless makeup and hair looks for on-air talent, guests, and presenters, ensuring a polished and professional appearance that aligns with Daytime's aesthetic and branding. This role requires a highly skilled and adaptable individual who can work efficiently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced television environment.

As a Hair & Makeup Artist, you will work across Lorraine, This Morning, and Loose Women.

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

• Proven experience as a makeup artist and hair stylist in television is imperative
• Extensive expertise in skin-tone matching and product application across all ethnicities
• A portfolio that provides clear evidence of artistry across all ethnicities including examples of makeup for darker and deeper skin tones and styling for textured, curly, and coily hair
• Comprehensive knowledge of professional products, tools, and techniques specifically curated for a diverse range of needs
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)

Technical Skills & Knowledge

• Extensive experience with television makeup and hair
• Experience working on live and recorded television
• Knowledge of current makeup and hair trends
• Expertly curate and apply makeup for a diverse range of clients, ensuring exceptional skill in working with all skin textures and all skin tones including deep, medium, fair with neutral undertones
• Expertly execute and maintain wide range of camera-ready hairstyles across all hair textures, with a proven experience in the requirements of wigs, textured, curly and coily hair
• Use a variety of hair styling tools and products to achieve desired looks adapting requirements for all hair types

Creativity and/or Problem Solving

• Proven experience in a variety of makeup styles, including natural, glamour, and character makeup
• Experience in a range of hairstyles, including updos, blowdries, and textured styles, suitable for on-air appearances

Communication

• Displays professionalism and a positive attitude
• Request product supplies accurately and in a timely manner
• Understanding of individuals’ needs and requirements
• Excellent communication

Planning & Organisation

• Strong attention to detail
• Work efficiently under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment
• Adapt to changing show requirements and make quick adjustments as needed
