The Role
The role
The purpose of the role is (please describe in one or two paragraphs):
The Identity team is responsible for the tools and services that enable users to gain access to the systems they need to perform their day to day activities. These tools include:
● Active Directory
● Okta
● Cyberark PAM
● Entra ID
These tools are our frontline protection capabilities and are critical to the secure running of our business within the UK and internationally.
The team is accountable for all identity services including both project roadmap delivery and support, thereby operating in a DevOps capacity.
As an integral member of the Identity team, the Business Analyst is a key facilitator in the definition and delivery of ITV’s Identity & Access Management and the integration of Applications & Services across ITV’s Divisional Units.
The role will work closely with both the Identity Service Manager and Delivery Manager as well as the technical and project teams to ensure there is common understanding and joined up thinking within the team.
The role
- Organise and facilitate requirements gathering sessions with technical teams and business stakeholders. Define functional, non functional requirements and produce requirements fit and gap analysis.
- Defining appropriate solution options and recommendations following a structured and analytical approach through identifying the problem to be solved with interviews, data analysis, processes analysis, and user needs analysis.
- Work with the Identity Service Manager, Delivery Manager and Technical leads to continuously review the Identity Roadmap and internal demand management, ensuring user requirements & use cases are thoroughly and accurately documented and delivered via Agile methodologies (Kanban).
- Maintain internal documentation relating to the implementation and operational management of Identity Products and Services. Define, facilitate, and drive periodic access review, certification, attestation processes.
- Perform or assist with acceptance testing, training, operational readiness activities, and support to ensure a complete application service is successfully delivered to the business.
- Working with Business Change Managers through implementation planning, training and communication, go-live transition and business adoption.
- Perform necessary follow up with partners to ensure new or modified system functionality is documented accurately and requirements have been met
- Communicate using a variety of methods such as documents, diagrams, prototypes, story mapping, user stories and use cases.

- Produce ad-hoc reports from data held in BigQuery and Splunk.
- Produce dashboards in Data Studio (previously Looker Studio) to help monitor identity metadata
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
- Experience of working within an agile project team
- Experience of working closely with both technical experts and business stakeholders, and of being the conduit between these disciplines
- Experience of working in an identity related role particularly
- Entra and Okta products strongly desired but not required
- Media industry experience preferred but not essential
- Strong documentation skills eg. business requirements, process mapping, data models
- Experience of working with an agile product team (Sprint, Kanban) utilising tools such as Trello, Jira, Google workspace and Slack.
- Adept at presenting complex information simply, and in appropriate formats, to facilitate decision making
- End user experience focused. Understands the importance of colleague feedback and measurement to inform solution development.
- Knowledge of analyst frameworks, business processes and business requirements methodologies
- Strong spreadsheet skills
- Familiarity with big data models e.g.Big Query or Splunk
- Familiarity with data visualisation tools e.g. Data Studio (prev. Looker Studio)
