Manual Device Tester

We are seeking a skilled and meticulous Manual Device Testers to join our dynamic team in London.

As a Manual Tester, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our streaming platform, which offers a wide range of content to our viewers across many devices. You will be responsible for defining and executing comprehensive manual tests, identifying software defects, and collaborating with the development team to improve our product.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough manual testing on ITV's streaming platform, ensuring maximum coverage of functional and non-functional areas.
• Create detailed and accurate test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate system functionality.
• Perform regression testing to guarantee proper system behaviour after enhancements, bug fixes, or system upgrades.
• Collaborate closely with the development team to report and track software defects, utilizing appropriate bug-tracking tools.
• Reproduce reported issues and provide clear steps to assist developers in identifying root causes.
• Apply testing best practices and methodologies to continuously improve the testing process.
• Participate in requirement and design reviews to provide valuable input from a testing perspective.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand user requirements and validate the software functionality against the defined specifications.
• Maintain a suite of testing devices & identify any gaps in devices required for testing.
  

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

• At least 2 years' experience as a Manual Tester or similar role, preferably in a streaming or digital media company.
• Strong understanding of software testing concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
• Experience in creating test plans, test cases, and test scripts for manual testing.
• Proficient in executing functional tests, regression tests, and smoke tests.
• Familiarity with bug tracking tools such as Jira or similar.
• Solid knowledge of web technologies, browsers, and streaming platforms.
• Ability to work in an Agile development environment and experience with Agile methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members of different disciplines.
• Passion for streaming media and a strong desire to provide a seamless user experience to viewers.

Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)

• ISTQB or similar certification in software testing.
• Experience working with automation testing tools and frameworks.
• Knowledge of SQL and basic database querying.
• Media/streaming domain would be an advantage.
