Procurement Business Partner

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Business Partner to join our Group Procurement team.

The role will focus on supporting and leading the strategic procurements across the business which could include major applications; cloud and managed services procurements with Tier 1- 3 suppliers; production technology; group technology such as hardware; professional services; data and marketing technologies.

As the Procurement Business Partner you will report to the Procurement Director for Technology and work closely with the Group Procurement Director and the Technology Leadership Team in ITV.

The team

The Group Procurement team has a vital role to play in helping achieve ITV’s strategic goals to transform and grow the business. This includes driving the delivery of our multi-year cost saving programme and making sure ITV gets the best value from the significant investments being made to digitally transform the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the most senior stakeholders across the business with integrity and challenge, confidently balancing local business requirements with group priorities.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the business and strategic aims.
  • Influence and collaborate, working as an internal consultant.
  • Provide regular insight, analysis and expertise.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the business areas you partner, including their operational challenges and strategic priorities.
  • Proactively manage; develop and execute on a renewal pipeline of contracted services work; driving the associated sourcing and negotiation strategies with Senior stakeholders.
  • Develop deep and trusted relationships with senior business stakeholders, including members of the Executive Leadership Team and Management Board.
  • Develop strong relationships with external stakeholders including key suppliers, professional organisations and industry or category networks groups.
  • Develop valuable insights for the business by analysing spend, market trends, benchmark, competitors, value chains and business demand/behaviour.
  • Work collaboratively with the business and Procurement leadership to develop strategies and plans that support ITV’s group targets and deliver long term value.
  • Proactively help the business understand and solve complex problems by providing analytical support, structure problem solving methodologies and developing options based on leading practices and innovations, focusing on total cost of ownership.
  • Support the digital transformation of the business by understanding how the use of technology, data and AI will impact the business, enable the overall strategy and unlock value opportunities.
  • Support through negotiation and contract management corporate simplification objectives, aligning contracts to specific legal entities in ITV; having clear strategies for billing and internal cost cross charging based on utilisation.
  • Help build and manage a multi-year pipeline of projects that deliver material value for ITV and align with strategic priorities.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to influence and challenge technical design decisions and requirements to meet capability/service, cost, and business objectives.
  • Lead the procurement element of major projects including developing innovative sourcing strategies, running competitive tender processes, evaluating responses, negotiating and supporting contracting.
  • Manage overall supplier relationships in partnership with the business, including governance, performance reporting, continuous improvement and capability development.
  • Work closely with Finance to identify, forecast, agree and validate savings.
  • Support the identification, mitigation and monitoring of key third party risks, including ensuring ITV’s Social Purpose standards and targets are achieved.
  • Proactively support the continuous improvement of Procurement’s processes and capabilities.

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

  • A strong track record in strategic procurement or consulting positions developing and executing market-leading sourcing strategies and projects.
  • Previous experience of working on large transformations; have experience of working in a portfolio type business or M&A activity or even just previous media experience would be considered desirable.
  • A “roll your sleeves up” mentality with a strong results and delivery ethos.
  • Hands-on experience implementing large scale digital transformation projects.
  • Demonstrable experience developing positive working relationships and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Track record of successfully leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams in the delivery of complex and high profile procurement projects.
  • Analytical with an ability to use a broad range of perspectives and data points to create insights and innovative solutions.
  • Ability to understand and translate strategic objectives into tangible outcomes.
  • Focused on customer needs with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Thrives in a fast paced and complex environment, can manage competing priorities and can work in an agile way.

  • A team player who enjoys building relationships
  • Be a self starter; with the ability to prioritise what they lead on based on value return (cost; risk; etc) to ITV; whilst be an ambassador, promoting and developing improved self serve ways of working for more tactical purchases.
