The Role

The team

Our News team delivers high quality and trustworthy television and online coverage that regularly attracts audiences in excess of 3.5 million viewers. It’s a fast moving environment with a huge variety of roles and challenges on offer. We operate in 11 main news production centres across England, Northern Ireland, Wales and the Channel Islands. We also have a Political Unit and a Weather centre based in Millbank, London. And finally, we produce a range of current affairs & factual programming out of ITV Wales, UTV and ITV Border.

ITV News Tyne Tees is the regional news programme for the North East of England, broadcasting bulletins and programmes seven days a week from a base in Gateshead. ITV Border covers the south of Scotland and Cumbria and produces regional news and non news programmes for the area.

The role

We're looking for a highly organised office professional with great admin skills to join us as a production coordinator for ITV News Tyne Tees & Border.

You will provide confidential administrative support to the Head of News, Managing Editor and Operations Manager. You will also support the rest of the management team and ensure the smooth running of our busy newsrooms and programmes. We’re looking for proven experience in diary and email management, travel planning and meeting coordination.

You will help manage invoices and orders, along with supporting the management team with recruitment processes and inductions for new starters. You will be the regional organiser for our scheme which helps give potential new talent an insight into how we work. You will also provide production support to our non news programmes in Scotland.

You’ll have strong communication skills and the ability to plan and organise team events.

As you could be the first point of contact for many of our visitors, you’ll have a welcoming manner and know how to get the best out of people. You will also be asked to support the production of our programmes by assisting with autocue, rostering and other tasks as required.

So, if you’re a confident communicator with proven administrative skill and a real desire to work for the ITV news operation, we want to hear from you.

Please apply with your CV and a cover letter detailing why this is the right role for you.

What is the magic of ITV?

It starts with a simple love of television. Watching it, creating it, talking about it. Whether it’s daytime or primetime, for downtime or anytime.

We’re inspired by our audiences. Who helps shape what we make. Standing shoulder to shoulder with them. Because what matters to them, matters to us.

Starting conversations. Winning hearts. Changing minds and sometimes even society itself. Big or small, what we make makes an impact.
