The Role
The role
The successful candidate will help ensure the smooth running of the press office. This will include managing ITV’s digital press centre and Publicity social media accounts, assisting the Publicity Managers in their roles and be responsible for the day to day administration of the Programme Publicity team.
Main responsibilities
- Operate as a ‘front desk’ function, responding to incoming emails to the ITV Press Centre. Redirect or act on emails as appropriate. Act as the main point of contact with journalists and assisting and redirecting enquiries.
- Manage ITV’s digital Press Centre, ensuring that Press Information is received to deadline. Ensuring that programmes are available to view on ITV’s press centre.
- Post releases and information to the Programme Publicity social media accounts as directed.
- Research press information on non-allocated programming.
- Raise POs and invoices and arranging payments as directed by the Publicity team.
- Maintain and update Publicity and events diaries and journalist and creator databases.
- Issue press releases and monitor press interest and response.
- Compiling, writing and disseminating daily media updates to deadline. Compile and monitor content creator output. Help collate and edit seasonal brochures. Write press information, brochure copy and press releases to the deadline.
- Organise and set up press screenings from inviting journalists to ensuring that an event runs smoothly.
- Arrange and book travel for the press office team, talent and media.
- Initiate new ways of working to improve Publicity team efficiency.
- Provide support to Heads of and Publicity Managers on cross genre campaigns
- Monitor press cuttings from our supplier ensuring accurate delivery.
- Help construct presentations on Google Slides or similar.
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
- Experience from within a Press Office or Public Relations agency environment would be an advantage.
- Passion for television/streaming and especially ITV content and programmes
- Ability to demonstrate that you’re passionate about television/streaming and have a genuine interest in media, PR, communications and broadcasting.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills

- Excellent communicator both written and verbally with the ability to adapt to the priorities of the day.
