The Role

The team..

ITV distributes both our own ITV Studios produced and acquired programmes and formats worldwide. The Royalty Payments team is responsible for reporting to producers, broadcasters, other stakeholders and contributors for their shares of the profit that is generated from these sales.

The team is part of central Finance Operations and provides support to ITV’s content distribution arm, Global Partnerships. The Royalty Payments team also collaborates closely with colleagues in Talent Payments, Rights, Business Affairs and Finance.

The role..

We are seeking an experienced Royalty Statements Manager to join us on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover the period during which the current Manager is working on the integration of new Rightsline and Alliant systems. You will be responsible for managing a team of 9 people and support the end-to-end process of royalty reporting, ensuring accurate calculations, timely statement delivery, and compliance with contractual terms. This role works closely with finance, legal, licensing, and external partners to maintain transparent and reliable royalty accounting, and closely with the project team who will integrate the new system into the BAU team.

Some of your key day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Review and approve royalty statements based on contract terms, usage data, and sales reports.
  • Review and interpret licensing, publishing, or distribution agreements to ensure accurate royalty calculations are transacted by the team.
  • Collect, validate, and reconcile usage data (e.g., sales reports, streaming data, third-party statements).
  • Investigate discrepancies and resolve issues with internal teams or external suppliers/contributors.
  • Maintain royalty schedules and databases, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date for the team to meet month-end deadlines.
  • Be an escalation point for queries from talent, agents, partners, or internal teams regarding royalty calculations and statements.
  • Assist with audits, providing supporting documentation and explanations as needed.
    Identify process improvements to streamline reporting, data handling, and statement accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational policies, contract obligations, and standards.

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

  • Demonstrable experience preparing and issuing end-to-end royalty statements within a royalty accounting, finance, licensing, publishing or distribution environment
  • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets capability, including use of formulas, lookups, pivot tables and handling large, complex datasets
  • Proven understanding of royalty payment processes and structures (e.g. revenue share, licensing fees, advances, recoupment, residuals)
  • Experience interpreting contracts or legal agreements to support accurate royalty calculations and reporting

Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)..

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing a team
  • Ability to set clear objectives, provide direction, and follow up to ensure targets are achieved
  • Demonstrated capability to support and develop team members through effective motivation and communication
  • Confidence investigating discrepancies, reconciling data, and resolving complex royalty queries with internal teams and external partners
  • Ability to manage multiple reporting cycles and work to tight month-end deadlines in a high-volume environment
  • Clear and professional communication style when responding to queries from talent, agents, suppliers and stakeholders
  • Collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively across finance, legal, licensing and external partners
  • Comfortable working with royalty systems or ERP tools (e.g. Rightsline, Alliant), or able to quickly adapt to new systems
