The Role
The team
The Media & Entertainment Division operate a Partnering led finance structure, reporting into the Director of Finance - M&E, which is supported by central services comprising Finance Operations (RTR, P2P, OTC etc), a Controllership team and specialist finance functions.
The role
The role of Senior Finance Business Partner is responsible for providing strategic commercial and financial support and advice to the Viewer Pillar, within ITV’s Media and Entertainment division. Partnering the Chief Viewer Officer and supporting the Finance Director, this role oversees financial planning and performance across ITV’s marketing, insights, SVOD and streaming, and distribution business areas. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a team focussed on growing ITV’s reach and viewing, delivering our high quality content to our viewers wherever, whenever and however they want to watch it.
This role drives performance within the Viewer Pillar measuring outcomes through KPIs and financial performance; looking forward, predicting outcomes and supporting decision making. This will involve working with the leadership team to continue driving digital transformation and automation into the business, evolve the arrangement with our distribution partners to deliver commercial outcomes and optimising investment in marketing, product and data and insights to grow viewing. Further, the Finance Business Partner analyses and supports decision making in the context of the broader M&E Strategy, balancing and prioritising resources and investments across the Viewer Pillar.
This role collaborates with the broader Finance Community to deliver value to the business, seeking technical and specialist support from the Group Finance functions, the FP&A Centre of Excellence, and the Business Service Centre.
Key responsibilities
- Build a detailed understanding and working knowledge of ITV finance process and operations, acting as a key partner to the Chief Viewer Officer on commercial finance and performance and embedding as a key member of Viewer Leadership team
- Review, challenge and prioritise investment cases, ensuring benefits commitments are articulated and delivered
- Provide strategic cost management of the function, understanding and influencing key cost drivers and delivering to budget
- Develop function plans, budgets and forecasts, ensuring performance is reported in a timely and accurate manner
- Drive performance through high quality analysis and decision support, seeking new opportunities to unlock and deliver value
- Be a key enabler for greater digital transformation, automation and streamlining of legacy processes across Finance and the Viewer Pillar
- Working with the Chief Viewer Officer - M&E, support in the maximisation of existing revenue streams, including SVOD and Distribution revenues, and identification of new commercial opportunities to support the division’s audience and digital growth ambitions
- Motivation and development of direct and indirect team members and implementing of clear succession plans
- Maintain a safe financial control and operating environment for the area, ensuring compliance with Group policies
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
- A broad finance background coupled with a strong commercial partnering mind set focused on delivering forward looking strategic priorities.
- Evidence of delivering outcome and leading / managing transformation and change in complex fast paced matrix environments.
- Advanced financial, problem solving, analytical skills
- Line management experience critical

- Very strong written communication skills, and ability to tailor skills to suit a range of potential audiences
- Digital consumer, gaming or media experience preferred
