Senior Measurement Executive (Data)

ITV is seeking a permanent Senior Measurement Executive to join our Outcome Measurement Innovation Team (MIT).

As the Senior Measurement Executive, you’ll play a hands-on, applied data science role, focused on experimentation and building scalable solutions. Your work will directly support ITV's goal to measure the total value and business impact of advertising across all platforms.

Historically, advertisers have had to measure TV impact themselves- meanwhile digital platforms built measurement into their offering. We’re closing that gap, and this role is a critical part of that journey.

You’ll contribute to the development and roadmap of our key measurement propositions, helping to build scalable data pipelines and analytical tools using Python and SQL that power the team’s measurement capabilities. You’ll also deliver client-facing measurement projects using our existing geo experiment and addressable lift tools.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys coming up with new ideas! This role offers space to invent entirely new ways of measuring business outcomes that haven’t been thought of yet.

You’ll also work closely with internal stakeholders across the breadth of ITV, from broadcast engineers to legal and everything in between, to bring these ideas to life. You’ll also connect with external collaborators across the industry on cross-broadcaster initiatives, helping shape the future of measurement beyond ITV.

The team

This role sits within ITV’s Outcome Measurement Innovation Team (MIT) - a team of data scientists and consultants focused on inventing new ways to measure the business impact of advertising with ITV. Whether it’s broadcast TV, ITVX, or sponsorships, the team designs tools, tests them with clients, and scales them for use across all advertiser types- from household-name brands to regional and digital-first businesses.

Importantly, MIT is embedded within ITV Commercial, which sells advertising solutions to our clients. That means we’re not a back-office data team—we work front-of-house, driving real client outcomes.

Responsibilities:
Data Plumbing

  • Managing the core cloud infrastructure to support the processing of large-scale data sets
  • Building simple, automated data pipelines to streamline data flow and processing
  • Using Python for data manipulation across different environments
  • Working with GCP and AWS (particularly BigQuery) to support scalable data operations
  • Setting up and managing basic cloud VM instances
  • Using tools such as Git/GitHub, VSCode, and cloud CLI for collaborative coding and deployment

Data Wrangling

  • Running analysis in remote environments (not just local notebooks), ensuring scalable and robust processes
  • Writing complex SQL and Python (or R) code to extract, transform, and analyse data
  • Applying statistical testing and A/B testing principles, including core experimental design techniques
  • Exploring and learning new tools and methodologies proactively
  • Applying a foundational understanding of machine learning concepts in experimental work

General & Project work

  • Communicating complex data and technical findings to non-technical audiences in a clear, engaging way
  • Translating raw data into compelling stories that highlight value and support business decisions
  • Using tools like GA4 and experimenting with models such as A/B tests, Geo Experiments, Attribution Models, and MMM Models
  • Working with audience segmentation and marketing data to support campaign evaluation
  • Scoping project requirements and managing them through to delivery using strong consulting and project management skills
  • Working collaboratively across ITV Commercial teams including sales, partnerships, trading, and strategy

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

  • Experience using VSCode and integrating with GitHub or similar tooling
  • Comfortable working across multiple cloud/data tools and services
  • Exposure to managing VM instances via terminal interfaces
  • Knowledge of CI/CD practices or infrastructure automation workflows
  • Familiarity with using third-party APIs to extract data on both continuous and periodic bases
  • Understanding of clean room concepts for secure data sharing
  • Experience implementing or adapting power/statistical tests
  • Experience with advanced machine learning models such as XGBoost
  • Confident writing object-oriented Python code

Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)

  • Used or explored modern AI tools and libraries
  • Experience working with visualisation tools such as Tableau, Excel, RStudio, and Python libraries like Seaborn or Plotly
  • Worked with audience segmentation, survey data, and related insight sources
  • Good understanding of the broader media landscape, particularly how digital platforms like Meta and Google operate
  • Hands-on experience using marketing experimentation models—including A/B testing, Geo Experiments, Attribution Models, and Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM)
  • Exposure to media industry data sources, such as BARB and media consumption datasets
