Talent Payments Assistant

Return to jobs

The Role

The team..

The Talent Payments function operates at the core of our business support framework, delivering specialised operational service across the organisation. We are a collaborative, customer-focused, and highly organised team dedicated to managing complex transactional processing while maintaining strict data integrity and regulatory compliance. Operating in a fast-paced environment, we work closely with the People Payments team, wider HR, and Finance functions to ensure absolute continuity and excellence in the support we provide to our employees and corporate clients.

The role..

We’re looking for two Talent Payments Assistants to join the team on a 8-month Fixed Term Contract basis. Reporting directly to the Talent Payments Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate processing of data and payments entered into the TalentPay system.

This is a varied, hands-on administrative role with exposure to processing data, performing reconciliations, responding to queries, and reviewing reports. It is ideal for an organised professional looking to build or develop a career in payroll, finance, or customer operations within a leading media business. You will focus on delivering exceptional customer service while keeping compliance with ITV’s internal policies, Union agreements, and HMRC regulations at the forefront of your daily work.

Some of your key day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Processing accurate and compliant talent payments from the initial transaction through to the programme sale, spanning both primary and secondary (residual/royalty) payments.
  • Onboarding Talent, Service Companies, Agents, and Independent Producers into the TalentPay system efficiently.
  • Collating and maintaining legal, personal, and contractual data in strict accordance with policies, Union agreements, HMRC regulations, and GDPR compliance.
  • Ensuring the utmost confidentiality and integrity of sensitive personal data (such as banking details) through secure scanning and storage practices.
  • Working on the Talent Payments Inbox and telephone lines to log, monitor, and help resolve payment queries.
  • Performing regular data cleansing activities to maintain overall system accuracy and supporting the development and reporting of department KPIs.
  • Collaborating directly with TalentPay system users, offering day-to-day system assistance and cross-functional support as required.
  • Contributing actively to team initiatives, covering team members' duties when directed, and maintaining service delivery in line with established controls and service level agreements (SLAs).

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

  • 5 GCSEs at grades A–C including English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Recent experience in an administrative or support position.
  • Accurate and efficient data entry skills with strong attention to detail, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel or Google Documents and Sheets.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to compose professional emails and resolve queries promptly.
  • Confident handling of confidential and sensitive information with a solid understanding of GDPR and data protection regulations.

Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)

  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively, while remaining calm and composed under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • A cooperative team player who builds strong working relationships, earns trust across all levels, and respects workplace fair practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to suggest process improvements and adapt positively to changing priorities.
  • Desirable awareness of current payroll legislation, including HMRC guidelines and Employment Rights.

Potential Challenges

  • Requires flexibility in working hours on occasion to meet key transactional deliverables and deadlines.

Please note, on occasion we may receive a very large volume of applications which means applications for a role may close earlier than the referenced closing date. We’d encourage you to apply as soon as possible if interested.

What is the magic of ITV?

It starts with a simple love of television. Watching it, creating it, talking about it. Whether it’s daytime or primetime, for downtime or anytime.

We’re inspired by our audiences. Who helps shape what we make. Standing shoulder to shoulder with them. Because what matters to them, matters to us.

Starting conversations. Winning hearts. Changing minds and sometimes even society itself. Big or small, what we make makes an impact.
