The Role

The team & The role

The successful candidate will ultimately train to be responsible for the picture quality and acquisition of high quality output in studio and also outside location shoots for Coronation Street.

Working alongside experienced Senior Vision Engineers, and reporting to the Vision Lead and Technical Manager the candidate will develop skills needed to become a well rounded Vision Operator that can perform independently and deliver carefully exposed and colour balanced images, in line with the Lighting Directors overall vision. Also, be able to correctly operate video servers and ingest devices and technically assess the visual and audio quality.

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

  • Demonstrate an interest in photography, videography or lighting for cameras.
  • Must have a critical approach to picture quality and an appreciation and understanding of studio lighting.
  • An ability to qualitatively assess and correct the colourimetry of video images.
  • Computer literate with a good understanding of Windows and other operating systems.
  • Some knowledge of IP networks as applied to studio and location for audio/video signals and control systems.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate with all departments, Including cast and crew.
  • Maintain confidentiality of important production information/details.
  • Experience within a technical role desirable e.g. Technical Assistant.
  • An interest in working within the TV industry, specifically continuing drama.
